In Texas, it is a deceptive trade practice to include the terms
"corporation" or "incorporated" or an abbreviation of the same in the name of a
business entity which is not incorporated.
When a material change occurs in the information on your assumed name
certificate, you need to file a new one. Changes of your business's location,
registered agent/office, ownership for nonincorporated businesses, form of
business or entity, and name are examples of changes that require a new filing.
Certain entities need to file with both the State of Texas and the County,
including corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and
professional associations.
